The History of the Ealing School of Dance
Ealing School of Dance
The Ealing School of Dance has rebranded in 2025. This allowed three well established, successful dance schools at the heart of Ealing to become one.
The Ealing School of Dance will remain in loving memory of with one of the most respected names in dance education in West London. Pamela Howard. (Formerly Pamela Howard School of Dance).
The Pamela Howard Legacy
Founded by Pamela Howard, a dedicated and passionate dance educator, the Pamela Howard School of Dance was established in 1945 and quickly became a well established school in the borough of Ealing. For decades, Miss Howard nurtured generations of dancers, including the Principal Rebecca Carrera and sent many students on to become professional dancers and educators.
Rebecca Carrera took on her first Principal role at the Pamela Howard School of Dance, the school she had trained at since she began dancing at the age of three.
Taking over En Pointe Dance and Ealing School of Dance
Rebecca worked closely with the founders of En Pointe dance (Reena Bhattacharje) and Ealing School of dance (Megan Metts) for many years. In 2025, the Pamela Howard School of Dance and En Pointe dance rebranded into the Ealing School of Dance, beginning in a new era while remaining true to the legacy of schools Rebecca took over. This transition marked a thoughtful expansion of the school's vision: to offer a broader range of dance styles while preserving the classical discipline and high standards that had always defined its ethos.
The Ealing School of Dance continues to offer exceptional training in RAD Ballet, Modern, Tap, and more. We continue a belief in nurturing every student, from beginner to advanced, in a supportive and inspiring environment.
Today and Beyond
Today, the Ealing School of Dance remains a beacon for young dancers across West London. We honour our past while embracing our future, incorporating modern dance education methods and expanding performance opportunities for our students.
Whether you are just beginning your dance journey or preparing for vocational training, the Ealing School of Dance continues the tradition started by Pamela Howard: one of excellence, dedication, and a lifelong love of dance.
